This is a lake, where the stream comes in from the mountains, and the water level is maintained by a small weir.
The lake water is calm, and usually very clear so that you can see the bottom. There are many small rocks jutting above the water, and some trees and petrified tree stumps.
Kayaks are available for rent, and it is very pleasant to paddle up the lake and jump into the clear water. The kayak rent is charged per person and includes use of a dry bag you can take with you on the kayak, a locker for anything you do not need to take, and a bottle of water.
There is also a swimming area next to the weir, and the weir itself is covered in slippery algae, so children use it as a water slide! To avoid slipping just wear a pair of socks, either by taking your own or buying a pair for not more than Bt 20.
There are a couple of restaurants offering very reasonably priced food and drink, so you can easily spend a few hours here.
