Than Bok Khorani

,

This is can be another multi-stop full day out (also see Emerald Pool and Hot Waterfall), but only about 15 minutes’ drive or ride away. We usually start here at Than Bok Khorani National Park, which is a National Park preserving another piece of tropical rainforest.

Other places to visit on this day out are;

Many of the trees here will be hundreds of years old, as you can judge by their girth and their height, typically growing straight up for the sunlight.

As you turn off the 4039 Road into the car park you cannot miss the red and white striped figures seen in the photo above. I will explain these later! For now there is ample parking, and you can find your way to the park entrance and pay the Bt 300 fee. Make sure that you keep the ticket, as you will also need that later. Then you can follow the boardwalk in a clockwise direction, with the cliff on the left and the rainforest on the right, and many small waterfalls.

At one point you can turn left in front of a tiger temple, and take the boardwalk to the end where there are Royal Cyphers left by the previous King and Queen (Rama IX). You can also hear the waterfall inside the cave which is the source of the water flowing through the ponds. Eventually the path returns to the start point just outside the ticket booth.
