Ao Nang Landmark

If you like Night Markets, and want to venture further afield, or maybe you are in Ao Nang anyway, the one at the Ao Nang Landmark is worth a visit. It starts from the edge of the main road on the other side from the beach, with an area of tables and chairs, and limited cover in case of rain. This is a “beer zone”, so you need to buy at least one beer to use a table! There is table service of bottled and draft local beer, a bar on the left side with the sea behind you, and another small bar serving cocktails etc towards the back on the right. I have seen people drinking wine but no idea where they bought it!

Alongside the music stage there is a bouncing castle and trampoline, to keep the children amused. Then there is a very large food market, with all sorts of things freshly prepared. It should suit nearly all tastes, possibly low on vegetarian/vegan, but we especially like the seafood barbecue. You choose a plate of mixed seafood, marked with the price, and they will swap things if there is anything you don’t like. Then they grill it for you, chop up what needs chopping, and add some dipping sauces. All to swill down with some cold beer, which is why we go quite often!
