There is still a night market (marked 1 in the map below) very near the statue and where the restaurant used to be, and that still uses the old name (Talad Poo Dam).
It is immediately across the road from the statue (marked 2 in the map below), and stretches back some distance. It is open every night, mainly serving food and drinks, with an area near the rear where there are tables and chairs available, and a stage which often has a musician bravely playing. There is a very wide range of food, from kebabs and sushi, through all kinds of fried, grilled, sauteed, and boiled fish, chicken and pork.
It caters mainly to locals, so prices are all reasonable.
